Myrtle Beach Bike Week - Fun in the sun for everyone!

myrtle-beach-bike-week.jpgMyrtle Beach Bike Week is just around the corner! This year’s event is taking place this spring, May 12-21, 2006 in South Carolina. This is the sixty-sixth annual Myrtle Beach Bike Week. This rally now draws over 300,000 people from all over the country.

Myrtle Beach Bike Week takes place at Murrells Inlet and the Grand Strand of South Carolina. Two of the best biker bars in the United States, SBB and the Broken Spoke Saloon, are located on the south end at Murrells Inlet. Myrtle Beach Bike Week also features a large outdoor vending location sponsored by Sonny Productions and Chopper Road Shows. It’s located at the Inlet Square Mall on the outdoor event grounds where there is plenty of parking. There’s always something to do here, whether it be motorcycle shows, poker runs, demo rides and of course, shopping. It’s always fun to just look at all the different bikes you’ll see in the parking lot!

Also in the vicinity for your dining enjoyment is Lone Star Steakhouse and Saloon, TGI Fridays, Hooters of Murrells Inlet, and AppleBee’s, all located at the Inlet Square Mall. If you drive up Route 17 Business North, you can also visit the Iron Gate Saloon and Lakewood campgrounds. There are vendors and events going on at these locations as well throughout Myrtle Beach Bike Week. The convention center has events going on May 18-20, 2006.

On May 17, the sixth day of Myrtle Beach Bike Week, there will be a Poker Run. Poker runs are always popular at rallies. This poker run takes you on a guided tour around the Grand Strand. The poker run begins at the parking lot of the Inlet Square Mall in Murrells Inlet and takes you towards Georgetown, Conway, and north to the Winery, and finally back to the mall. Collect your cards along the way and see if you can get a winning hand and win a prize. This event is welcome to all who register, and there is a fee of twenty dollars per person.

While at Myrtle Beach Bike Week, you may want to enter your motorcycle in shows. There are several shows throughout the span of the event that offer prizes in different classes and categories including Best Paint, Best Wheels, Best Exhaust, Best Frame, and Best of Show.

There’s so much to do at Myrtle Beach Bike Week alone, but you may want to check out the other activities available such as the downtown area, shops, and amusement parks and rides.
