Camping In PA - So many areas to choose from

In the northeast, you will find that this region was formed years ago when glaciers helped to sculpt many ridges and valleys. In the southeastern part of the state, it’s difficult to choose just one area to go camping in PA. There is the Philadelphia region, which is known as the “birthplace of our nation.” In Lancaster County, also known as “Pennsylvania Dutch Country,” you can tour the beautiful countryside after you set up at your campsite. There are also areas such as Hershey, Harrisburg and Lebanon where you can find amazing areas to go camping in PA.
Northcentral Pennsylvania is the home of the Nittany Lions. There are many things to see and do when you are camping in PA and this area offers not only many antique and craft shops, but also some really beautiful nature. If you go a little further up north, you can visit Tioga county which is home of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. Now there would be a lovely area to find a campground and go camping in PA!
When you go directly south, you’ll be in the southcentral part of the state. Here you will find York which is known as “Hog Heaven” for all of the Harley Davidson enthusiasts, Adams county which is where historical Gettysburg is located, and Huntingdon county where you will find lots of boating, fishing, swimming and hiking. Sounds like a perfect location to go camping in PA!
Traveling to the northwest part of the state is where some of the best fishing and hunting opportunities are in the world. You can find this right in Venango County. Clarion County offers many recreational and scenic areas to go camping in PA and Crawford County is home to countless lakes and the Erie Wildlife Refuge.
A little further south is where you’ll experience the never ending beauty of the Laurel Highlands. Hiking, fishing, hunting, horseback riding, kayaking and swimming are all wonderful things to do here making it another ideal location to go camping in PA.
