All of the aforementioned bad etiquette ideas can make for an unpleasant time. So here are 8 simple tips to use when doing off road sports so that you can enjoy a fun filled weekend. The first would be to learn what etiquette is. For those of you that do not know it is “the forms, manners, and ceremonies established by convention as acceptable or required in social relations.” Be prepared. If you are not prepared for off road sports it could mean life or death for you or anyone who gets in your way.

Make sure you pack according to the weather conditions. Have plenty of water on hand if you will be in an extremely hot environment. Remember to pack a spare tire a jack and other things necessary to change a tire and any other gear you will need for the outing. Be a Good Samaritan. If you are driving by and see a rider in trouble, just stop to see if they need any help. If they do need help offer it to them, maybe they need help with a tire change and a jump. You would want someone to do the same for you if the situation was reversed. Do not dust someone or tailgate anyone while driving. Do not pass on a trail. This can cause a very dangerous situation for you and the other driver.

No wheel spinning. This is caused from one of two things. Either from driver error like going to fast or picking a bad line or equipment that is not good. You may need heavier equipment for the terrain you are on. Don not rock stack. This erupts the environment and means you are doing off road sports on the wrong trail. Repeated rock stacking can be hazardous to you and other drivers. Last thing to remember pick up your trash. If you take food or drink to do off road sports make sure you take it home with you and do not leave it on the trail. This is pretty much common sense when you visit anywhere.
