With a new racing season just around the corner, I was looking for all the latest news in the racing world. It seems like it has only been couple of weeks, not three months since last year’s season came to a close. I went onto Nascar.com find out all the latest news about racing. This website gave me the latest news on my favorite, Rusty Wallace, who retired last year, as well as his son, Steven, who will be racing part-time in the Busch series this year. Nascar.com also provided me information about the drivers who have “switched rides” for the upcoming year. These include Kurt Bush, Jamie McMurray, Bobby Labonte, and Michael Waltrip.
For the new race fan, Nascar.com has a link that you can use to educate yourself on racing lingo, an explanation of the points system, and how the money is distributed. There is also information about the history of racing, biographies of the families of racing, and a statistics page. Nascar.com also provides information about drivers, crew chiefs, teams, manufacturers, and a car number index.
Are you looking for race schedules, track information, and television programming information? Nascar.com provides that as well. Be sure to check out the new ABC/ESPN racing commentator this year - Rusty Wallace!
One area of Nascar.com that I thought was really cool was a link on drivers. You can find drivers listed alphabetically. Click on the driver’s name and it brings you to a page that has a biography, statistics, and headlines related to that driver. There are drivers listed in this section who have raced in the Winston Cup or Nextel Cup series, starting in 1975. You can also find the same information for Busch series and Craftsman Truck drivers.
In addition to all these great features, Nascar.com offers information on how to obtain tickets. Each scheduled race is listed in the Nextel Cup, Busch Series, and the Craftsman Truck Series. Simply click on the “tickets” link in this list and it takes you to racetickets.com where you can purchase tickets. To make travel arrangements, click on the “travel” link in the race schedule.
This website wouldn’t be complete without an online store! You can buy clothing for men, women, and children, hats, die cast cars, tailgating items, home and office items, collectible items, and much more. No race fan can ever show too much support for their favorite driver!
