Gymnastics - Imortant things to look for!

Learn about these hidden factors when your child wants to take gymnasics! What sports is there for a two-year-old little girl? When a two year old says “gymnastics Mommy” you know you need to find a good gym that caters to all ages. In this case, we have one place that teaches gymnastics. I searched for information on the web, clicked on several links, went to numerous gyms page on the internet. I didn’t have much of a choice. The gym and the coaches are top notch so it isn’t as bad as it sounds.

In the toddler gymnastic classes they do simple tumbling, balance beams that are on the floor, spring boards and tunnels. Now during the gymnastics class I thought I am paying $50 a month for this one hour class for her to do this? But we kept at it. She loved it! Gymnastics let her work off some of that energy she had stored up so when she got home she crashed. The next year she started using more of the equipment such as the rings, uneven bars and the trampoline. She was getting it too. We are now spending $60 a month for gymnastics classes. But she is taking off in the sport. Will she be a national gymnast someday? So like a good Mom, we kept paying and taking her to one class for an hour. Now we are into year three. This is when I realized two things. First she is really learning a lot from gymnastics classes. The big thing she learned how to take turns. The other was the obvious she was becoming a gymnast. I also started to understand the reason they ran their classes the way they did. The things she did in toddler classes actually lead up to the big stuff.

I began to gather info from the men and women that were there watching their children during gymnastics. The kids can be on team. Now depending who you talked to this can become very expensive between $300 and $1000 a year. The gym has time reserved for team members. The class schedule is four or more times a week for more than two hours at a time. When do they have time for their studies? Now it is in my rights to decline the team offer. But what if she was meant to be an Olympic medalist? She needs my support and my money. Whether it is basketball, softball, dance or swimming, Gymnastics is time consuming and costly for girls or boys that are good at it. We have since stopped gymnastics and started softball, her choice not mine.
