Duke Basketball - On their way to March Madness
It came down to the final seconds in the game between the Duke Basketball team and the Florida State Seminoles. The Duke Basketball team which is ranked number one made the Seminoles work hard for their victory of 79-74 for an upset. After what the fans thought was the end of the game they rushed onto the court congratulating everyone. They were a little premature because the game was not over in fact there was still time on the clock. The officials gave the Seminoles a technical foul and J.J.Redick took two foul shots, making both of them. Had the game been a little closer The Duke Basketball players made have had another chance. The Duke Basketball team was trailing in the first quarter by twelve points, but they came back to take the lead after halftime and then the battle began. Unfortunately, Duke Basketball players Sheldon Williams and Josh McRoberts left the game with five fouls and that was pretty much the end of the ballgame.
Being the underdog you have to wonder if the referees gave the game to Florida State, letting them outshoot the Duke Basketball team by such a large margin or was it that they only gave Florida 17 fouls as opposed to 31 fouls received by the number one ranked team. But we can’t blame the officials for the loss. Although I am sure the coach will have some questions for them. I guess they have rights to do that. Florida State University hit their free throws, they won because they were intense, and they played hard and did things teams do to win. The Duke Basketball players did not do that.
So the regular season is finished and for Duke Basketball, a first place seed seems all but certain. With tournament time coming up very soon, Duke Basketball players have to step up and be on top of their game. Key players J.J. Redick has to figure out how to stay out of foul trouble so he won’t have top leave another game. Greg Paulus has to work consistently both offensively and defensively to maintain hi high level of playing.
Duke Basketball players may work harder then any other team in the country with the point guard being the heart of the team. The Blue Devils have two guys who raise their level to legendary heights .Let us wish fans everywhere, Good Luck.
