Bull Riding - Learn the rules of the sport

Learn the rules for this dangerous sport, and maybe even give it a try!The simplest rules in sports for the most popular and dangerous event at the rodeo. So your there, and you want to try bull riding. All you have to do is hop on the bulls back, the one you have never met before, the one that looking you right in the eye and says “I hate you”, right before you climb up onto his back. Well, that was simple. Now you’re ready to do some bull riding. You’re up on the bulls’ back with no saddle and a rope to hold onto with one arm only. Actually your hand is being tied into the rope so it’s really holding you on. The bull’s getting poised off now; he’s tired of waiting for you to get situated. The helper’s pulled the cinch up tight around his belly and straps it tight. You know what that does? It’s the thing that makes him buck really hard and long. This one going to do some major bucking. Do you still want to try bull riding?

Finally the moment everyone has been waiting for, the crowd is cheering and the gate is opened. You’re doing it, your bull riding! And you can’t hear anything going on around you. The only thing you know is that this thing is doing it’s best to get you off. He bucking, spinning around, throwing his head hoping his horns will hit your face, it’s very obvious now that he hates you. You have 8 seconds to last on these bulls back, so quietly you start begging for mercy, hoping he’ll go easy on you. Finally 8 seconds is over. You did it. You can actually say that you went bull riding. But wait lets not celebrate so quickly, you still have to dismount, without getting hurt. Hummmm??? Very carefully jump and do your best to land on both feet and then run away from thing as fast as you can because he really hates you now. You beat him. Don’t take it personal he hates everyone who loves bull riding.

You passed the test, you made the 8 second time, and you feel like you’ve just defeated your worst enemy. But now you’re ready to go for the big time. You think you’re so good at bull riding your going to join the professional bull riding circuit.

Not quite all of the rides go like the one in my story. Some well known cowboys have been critically injured or have even died doing this crazy sport. But they will always come back to it because bull riding is their love.
