The Bible - The Bread of Life
The Bible is the bread of life! Jesus said, when being tempted by Satan, “Man does not live on bread alone, but from every word that comes from the mouth of God.” How do we know what God says? Through the Bible–God-breathed, God’s word, the inerrant word of God. There is nothing in the Bible that is insignificant; it was written through men by the Holy Spirit of God.
The Bible is the one truly accurate history book and holds many scientific truths as well. Science is supposed to be factual; however, in science classrooms today most of what is being taught is mere unproven theory! The Bible is one hundred percent fact and truth. From how the world was created to the key to eternal life in Heaven and how to live an abundant, victorious life on earth—it is all in the Bible.
The Bible is made up of the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament is from creation to before Christ. It is written by Moses and many other prophets who recorded how to live for God before the Messiah (Jesus Christ) and the countless works of God’s mighty hand. There are also many prophesies recorded that were fulfilled in the New Testament and some still being fulfilled today. The Old Testament is the only part of the Bible that people of Jewish faith hold to be true. The Jews do not believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah.
The New Testament begins at the birth of Jesus Christ to the visions that John received from God about the end times on earth, in the book of Revelation. The most important truth in the whole Bible is in the New Testament, and that is the Gospel, the way to heaven. Only through faith in the sinless life, gruesome death, and victorious resurrection of Jesus Christ can one receive eternal life in Heaven. Along with salvation, God also gives us the Holy Spirit, who lives in us, to help us survive and live for Him while we are here. Without salvation, faith in Christ, and forgiveness of sins, one will receive eternal death after life on this earth. Eternal death is not the end, it is torment day and night forever and ever in the lake of fire. Imagine the one thing you fear the most magnified one billion times. That is what you would be in for, all the time, forever. Not to mention excruciating heat, no food or water, darkness, and loneliness.
In Heaven you will have a mansion, walk on streets of gold, you will have a new, glorified body, you will live in eternal light, radiated from the glory of God and be in his presence always!
