Funny Cats - For Cat Lovers and Otherwise

find other great websites with funny cat expressionsI was very surprised to find so many websites on the internet with pictures and videos of funny cats. I will admit that I had never been much of a cat person. Growing up, I had a pet dog and it seemed every cat I was around would not be considered funny cats—they were mean! I always thought of a cat as being either mean or just aloof, not wanting to bother much with people. That perception changed last year when out of the blue three kittens showed up at our home.

My son and his friend found them hiding in the cubby holes beside our coal bin. These were definitely funny cats, as they all looked completely different. We felt sure they were all brothers and sisters since they were apparently dropped by the mother together. One was a tiger, one was a black, orange, and white calico, and the third was white with a gray stripe on its head. All three of these kittens were very scared of us at first. They would hide and peek out at us from their hiding place. Of course, we started to feed them. It took a few weeks, but finally they got comfortable with us, especially the white one, which we named Gandalf, after the white wizard in the Lord of the Rings.

He was a very affectionate cat and purred constantly. Although my husband is allergic to animals with fur, I would let Gandalf in the house sometimes. He would come in and eat Buster’s food (Buster is our dog). The other two funny cats we named Tiger and Spooky. Spooky was named because she was the one who always ran and hid from us. It took her a while to warm up to us. These two have never showed much interest in coming in the house, although when they do come in, they usually want to get right back out. These two funny cats like to get up at the kitchen window and look in. Anyway, Tiger and Spooky are the only funny cats we have now. One day, Gandalf decided to take off (being a male he probably went out to cat around!) and he never came back. I always look for him and I wonder if he’s found a new home. I suppose Tiger and Spooky are now here to stay. Since they are both females, I don’t think they’re going anywhere.

Although I wouldn’t say I’m a cat lover like some people, I like cats more than I used to. I can appreciate the pictures of funny cats that are everywhere—on calendars, greeting cards, posters, TV and funny cats websites–and see how people can grow attached to them. And whenever I see a picture of a white cat with a gray stripe, I think of my Gandalf.
