Growing up watching Saturday Morning Cartoons, you couldn’t help but become very fond of certain cartoon animals and eventually they would become a family favorite at home. Here are some on my list of favorites from the Looney Toons:
Bugs Bunny, also known as “Bugs” is one of America’s favorite rabbits. He’s without a doubt one of the most popular cartoon animals and one of the most recognizable. He is brash, has a quick wit about his humor, and is a very boisterous wascally wabbit.
The Tazmanian Devil is one of the cartoon animals known for whirling around like a tornado and only has one thing on his mind: eating. He has the power to devour anything in his path within one gulp. He also despises being in a cage and will most likely break free. Although he seems fierce, he’s actually a very cute and fuzzy creature and even has a weakness for female devils.
Another sweet creature that is quite lovable is Tweety Bird. Tweety is known for the famous line “I tawt I taw a puddy tat… I did, I did!” This little yellow canary is one of Sylvester the cats biggest rivals. You can almost always find these two in a cat-and-bird contact chase in just about every episode they’re in together. It’s almost an art. Tweety always escapes him though and comes out on top in the end. Speaking of Sylester, he’s one of the cartoon animals most famous for his slurpy and slobberish line “Sufferin’ succotash!”
Pepe Le Pew has always been one of my favorite cartoon animals. He was born a romantic and he has an ego as big as the Eiffel Tower and has a French accent to melt the hearts of any skunk, or cat. Pepe has one flaw though, his perfume. Unfortunately, his stench makes the ladies run! But Pepe doesn’t give up though and he certainly won’t take no for an answer.
Of course, who can forget about one of the most unique cartoon animals, Daffy Duck! Daffy always seems to be a victim of injustice. He refuses to surrender though in any given situation.
Another great pair of cartoon animals are Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner. Their classic chase of each other is one that you’ll never get tired of watching. Wile E. is always coming up with different schemes to catch the Road Runner but the Road Runner always seems to outsmart him. Beep beep!
We all have our favorite cartoon animals, the above mentioned are just a few of mine that I enjoyed as a child and still continue to enjoy today. Check out the web and do a search for your favorites!
