My Beagles have been a part of my family for 3 years now. Growing up with a dog in my family ever since I was young helped me to embrace the benefits that a Beagle can give to you. Most Beagles love to be with their owner rather than penned up in a kennel. Getting a Beagle as a puppy is what most people do when they choose to purchase a dog, but have you ever considered the pound or a local SPCA? My first Beagle came from a small pound outside my town, he is such well-behaved animal. Even if you haven’t made up your mind about either buying your Beagle in a pet store or a pound, find where your town’s SPCA is, get some information, and take a look! It won’t hurt, I promise. There are many breeds there that need a good home. Like I said, when I brought my Beagle home and he hasn’t left my side since! Any pet is so grateful when they have someone to share their large happy, heart with.
Beagles are an excellent canine to have around the house. They are great with children, and they’re personality is equal to a human! I find that when I read books about my pooch, everything seems so real, like they’re talking about my Beagle! Most Beagles have the same tendencies to do things alike. I have yet to meet a Beagle that doesn’t love to hunt! My Beagles will run away, but every once in a while we take a trip to the park, and I let them run around by themselves. They run for hours with their nose to the ground and their tails pointed high in the sky! It’s a great family activity to watch your dog running and not having a care in the world!
Another great thing that I get out of owning a Beagle is a singing partner! I will admit, I’m not the next superstar, but my Beagle might be! He has a howl that is like no others. Some people say that Beagles are known for their barking, but it’s not true. My dog didn’t bark much at all, until I taught him how to howl; and even then he only does it on command. Chewing, barking and biting are all things that are trainable with a dog. Beagles are great listeners and they learn things fast.
If you have a lot of love to give, a Beagle is a great pet for you. My Beagles are like children, since I don’t have any right now. There’s not much in this world that I wouldn’t do for my dog.
