Pearle Vision is a leader in the optical and eye care industry. My eye doctor is located within a Pearle Vision store, although he is an independent optometrist. I have been a customer in the past and have always been pleased with their services and the products they provide. Pearle Vision was established by a doctor back in 1961. He wanted to create a place where people could get complete eye exams in addition to a wide selection of frames and corrective lenses. The first location opened in Savannah, Georgia and soon more stores were opened open all over the country. Pearle Vision became one of the largest networks of optical retail outlets, with locations not only in the United States, but in Canada, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean as well.
Pearle Vision is owned by Cole National, and was acquired by Luxottica Group in 2004, a global leader in the design, manufacturing and distribution of prescription frames and sunglasses in the mid and premium priced categories. Luxottica is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange (LUX).
The Pearle Vision Promise guarantees complete satisfaction to the customer. If you are not pleased with your new glasses, or if they need to be adjusted, return them within sixty days and they will be replaced or repaired at no charge. However, this guarantee does not cover accidental damage or scratches. In my experience, I had a pair of glasses in which one of the lenses had a scratch on it before I had even worn them. The technicians offered a replacement lens for my glasses at not charge to me.
You can also purchase a protection plan (for a $25 fee) that covers scratch and breakage protection for your eyeglasses or sunglasses. Pearle Vision will replace your damaged frames or lenses for thirty percent of the current retail price for up to one year from the date of purchase. If the same frame isn’t available, you can choose a frame of equal value. They also offer complete cleaning and adjustments for the lifetime of your eyeglasses or sunglasses.
Another benefit offered is that you have the option of making no payments for up to six months on purchases of $300 or more if you purchase by using the Pearle Vision Preferred Card, which you can apply for online or in a store.
