Snow White - The legend to this fairy tale
Adapted from the feature Grimm’s Fairy Tales, snow white was adapted without violent content or sexual references to become one of Disney’s greatest films. It is the first full length animated feature with a running time of 83 minutes. It is the last major classic film Disney released on videotape.
Everyone knows this story. the beautiful daughter being raised by her wicked step mother the Queen. The Queen fears that the little princess will surpass her beauty so she dressed snow white in rags. Every day the evil Queen will look in her magic mirror and say “mirror, mirror on the wall who’s the fairest of them all?)As long as the mirror replied you are the fairest of them all snow white was safe. One day the Queen spoke again to the mirror saying “magic mirror on the wall who is the fairest one of all? The mirror replied” framed ion thy beauty, majesty. Behold a lovely maid I see rags cannot hide her gentle grace. Alas she is more fair then thee.
The Queen is very angry and says” Alas for her reveal her name”
The mirror tells the Queen” Lips red as the rose Hair black as ebony “
The Queen has realized who he is speaking of. . The Queen sees in her mirror that snow white is in the garden dreaming about her handsome prince. The prince she dreams will rescue her one day. The prince rides by and hears snow white singing so he sings back to her. The Queen becomes enraged and orders the huntsman to take her to the enchanted forest and murder her. The huntsman cannot carry out the deed and leaves her there. Snow white finds a home in the forest made for little people. It was the home of the seven dwarfs. The house is a mess so snow white decides to clean it. When the dwarfs return home they see that their house has been cleaned but by whom they wonder.
When the Queen learns that snow white is still alive she disguises herself as an old lady and goes to the forest to give her a poisonous apple. When she eats the apple she passes out. The only way she can awaken is from a kiss from the prince. The dwarfs take her to the forest and wait for the prince.
After a year of a constant vigil the dwarfs grieving came to an end. The prince came and gave snow white a kiss. And of course they lived happily ever after.
This feature is at the top of my list for one of the best classics it reminds me of a time that you never want to end. I always find a way to make it back.
