After you have set the theme of your party, its time to get some spooky Halloween recipes to match. Having the right treats and food can add a special mood to your party. If you theme is vampires, you don’t want your Halloween recipes to have little Goldfish crackers and bologna…you should have a mix of scary treats with blood and teeth! So if you get my drift, I begin to enlighten you with some easy Halloween recipes that will put a frightening side to your party.
Candy corn can take the place of teeth, on the Dracula decorated cookies you baked, or they can double as fingernails on those witch’s finger shaped cookies. One of my favorite Halloween recipes to make is a delicious ear wax wiener! And the preparation is easy! Use small cocktail hot dogs and wrap them in the bread you get from a can, like Pillsbury squares. Stick a Q-tip in each one and a wet cotton ball on the end of the Q-tip, when your guests touch it they will feel like they’re touching a wet Q-tip from a monster’s ear! Beside your ear wax wiener platter, place a bowl of wax (Dijon mustard) and/or a bowl of blood (ketchup).
Your Halloween recipes are beginning to develop! Don’t forget the punch! Probably the most important part of your party. For a neat container, buy a cheap witches cauldron and use a skeleton hand for the ladle! The list of possible ingredients for your punch is endless. You can make a steamy punch bowl by using dry ice. However, this could be dangerous for children, do not eat the dry ice. For your drinking Halloween recipe, try adding colored sherbet to your bowl for a gloomy effect. Use dark colored juice and Kool-Aid mixes. Make sure you decorate the base of the cauldron to give off the desired effect.
Around the time of trick-or-treating, you will be able to find many chocolate eyeballs, bones, and other spooky treats. Use them in a candy dish for snacking. These dishes can be placed around the room, so your guests don’t feel left out of the trick-or-treating experiences! Your party is going to be a smashing hit with these Halloween recipes. Use your imagination, and try to stick with your theme. Anything that will ooze out into your hand or mouth is also an extra advertisement for Halloween recipes.
Some great Halloween recipe ideas to think about are, dying your eggs (for deviled eggs) green. Green eggs? Who would eat these? They were a big hit at my party, and made my food table look awesome! If you don’t have a budget for your party, go to your specialty store and look for brain molds, or hand molds or other body part molds, and put your dip in one! Scatter some fake bugs around your table to get the creepy crawly feel you want!
When making your Halloween recipes, try to use your crockpot for most of the food, then you will have time to put on your costume or great your guests when they come in. If you assemble your Halloween recipes after your guests arrive, then you won’t have to worry about it getting wrecked before everyone gets a chance to see your Halloween recipes set-up!
