Now I am not knocking all diet products, there are many helpful ones that come in the form of supplements or foods. But you really have to sort through a maze of them to find one that is right for you. There is one that blocks sugar absorption, one that will burn calories or carbs, and yet another will control your appetite, more commonly known as appetite suppressants.

A prime target market for diet products is the female population. The amount of advertisement you can come across in a day is mind boggling. The truth is that there is no magic bullet out there. Your health is based on one decision at a time, one day at a time and nothing from a bottle can be a substitute for bad choices.

Here are some healthy eating tips you can use along with any one of these diet products to make your weight loss program a success.

Dieting does not have to be a big chore. Now dieters have a wide variety of choices to make. Low calorie, high fiber energy bars are my favorite ones. A lot of nutrition is packed in a little bar. This choice has much less fat and calories than a doughnut and makes for a quick snack.

Eat only when you are hungry. Eat more times a day, but in smaller portions. Choose foods and diet products that are all natural, higher in protein and fiber and lower in carbohydrates and fat.

Supplementing with diet products such as vitamins, minerals and enzymes can reduce cravings for sweets and carbohydrates, and help utilize the food you eat more efficiently.

You can lose weight with the use of diet products, but they should not be a substitute for a poor diet. The federal guidelines for a healthy menu, includes a balance food containing fats, carbohydrates, proteins and vitamins.

The most disturbing thing that I have learned is that there are some ingredients that have been put in our foods that are addictive. Who knew? Whatever health problem arises from overeating or obesity is usually met by the health industry at a high price. Cha-ching!

We need to be a little bit more pro active in our health and be aware of these unpleasant issues, or we will continue to have many adults suffering with multiple health problems brought on by obesity.
