I remember being a being a little girl and playing all sorts of dress up games. A bunch of kids from the neighborhood would get together and just have so much fun playing dress up games. It was always upsetting when a friend couldn’t make it. But it wasn’t the end of the world, so we would play without them sometimes we would start by playing paper dolls that we had or make our own. We would play for hours. When the paper dolls got boring we would play dress up games with clothes we would find in the hamper. We would turn on some music and dance around being crazy. We usually didn’t have any privacy because my brother was always around bugging us. I also had some accessories to add to our cool outfits.
Necklaces, clip on ear rings that belonged to my grandmother and bracelets. My friends and I thought we were like the princess we read about in our books. All the parents thought we should do dress up games show. They could guess who we were dressed up like. That seemed like a fun game. Sometimes when we played dress up games we would take a picture so we would have a special memory of the day. Those were the days. Being very innocent, playing around in your own home. Having your own little adventure. My kids still play dress up games on occasion. They will get out old Halloween costumes of Disney characters. It is fun to watch them having so much fun they will pretend to bake in their pretend kitchen all dressed up.
I looked online for dress up games and found a page where you can decorate your own paper dolls. I also found some not so reserved sites where you can play dress up games with celebrities. It listed a bunch of celebrities that you can play dress up games with. It seemed kind of strange so I did not go any further. There has got to be a policy on that somewhere. I am not sure. You can also find some online that are pretty decent for young girls to play. They seemed pretty interactive. But if you want your little girl to play dress up games like you did when you were younger I know they are still available, I found some at AC Moore. Of course they are more detailed now then they were when I had then and now they have male versions. Huh? Who would have thought of that?
