Keith and Charlene Mann started Ice Cream Man in the early 1980’s. They primarily ran the business strictly as a frozen dessert operation from Memorial Day to Labor Day. They used a log cabin house to serve as their headquarters. They originally called the business the Ice Cream Mann since their last name was Mann.
In 1994 the Mann’s sold their business to Nancy Schneider. Nancy knew she needed to have a year round business that catered to the young and old alike. So she put an addition on the building to accommodate year round seating and also opened a retail shop. Nancy also added cakes and included soft frozen treats.
In April 2001 the business was again sold to Julia Reynolds who has been the retail manager of the Ice Cream Man since 1997.They are located in Greenwich, New York. They sell both retail and wholesale. They offer a line of premium-frozen treats as well as soups, sandwiches, and cakes. The Ice Cream Man offers many different flavors. They also offer feature flavors, you must call ahead to see what availability they have in flavors that day. The flavors read: Vanilla, Chocolate, Coffee, Strawberry, Chocolate Chip, M & M, Almond Joy, Maple Walnut, Black Raspberry, Butter Pecan, Danish Cream and Orange Pineapple. The Ice Cream Man also offers a variety of soft serve and yogurts for you to choose from.
They also offer seven different kinds of sandwiches and numerous kinds of soup. These are offered at the ice cream man on homemade bread, served with chips, macaroni, and pasta or potato salad as a side. All their sandwiches have very interesting names attached to them.
One of the other specialties offered at the Ice Cream Man is cake. They are loaded with the sweet frozen stuff and would be an awesome birthday cake for the young and young at heart. This is especially handy if you don’t have time to do it yourself and you are fortunate enough to be close enough to their store.
