Coldstone Creamery - A pleasant and delicious experience
I remember my very first visit to Coldstone Creamery as if it was yesterday. We were on the boardwalk in Rehobeth Beach, Delaware and suddenly got a craving for ice cream. We turned down one of the little side streets and saw Coldstone Creamery and thought we should check it out. We walked in to a very pleasant and upbeat atmosphere filled with entertainment. Music was playing, the employees were singing and having a great time and you couldn’t help but have a smile on your face. Not to mention, the ice cream choices were completely overwhelming! We had to take a step back and let others go in front of us because there was just so much to choose from!
I ended up going with something simple at Coldstone Creamery, or so I thought it was. I chose the Very Berry Good creation which was a mix of sweet cream ice cream with blueberries, strawberries and raspberries. Watching them prepare the dish of ice cream was a real treat from beginning to end! As they’re scooping out the flavor you choose, the employees are singing and carrying on. They use flat utensils instead of rounded scoopers and roll the ice cream as they are scooping it out. You can choose to have it served in a waffle cone or in a dish and no matter which you choose, it is truly fabulous.
The difference that Coldstone Creamery has in their ice cream which separates them from the rest is that they make it fresh every day and blend in a mix in nuts, candy and fruit almost in an artistic way. They’ll make it exactly how you want it.
Coldstone Creamery was founded by Donald and Susan Sutherland. They searched above and beyond to find an ice cream that was like no other. They wanted something smooth and creamy that would leave a lasting impression on everyone’s mind after having it. The first Coldstone Creamery store opened in 1988 and has since exploded. Today, there are over 1000 Coldstone Creamery stores throughout the United States and there are more than 1000 that are expected to develop or are currently in development.
Not only can you get their ice cream creations at their stores, but you can also purchase ice cream cakes for special occasions or just for a dessert. Coldstone Creamery will make it with your favorite flavor of ice cream and layer it with a devil’s food, red velvet or a yellow cake an top it with fudge ganache, white or strawberry frosting. It’s simply delightful!
