I think that tight clothing is easily one of the most uncomfortable things in the world, especially when it comes to pants. How does one even get them on, let alone get through an entire day wearing them? Why would you want to feel like something is constantly running up your leg? Or why would you wear a top that doesn’t even give you the ability to barely move your arms? Instead of buying tight clothing, I would think that someone would be much more comfortable wearing something a little more loose and comfortable. If you can’t bend over when you are wearing tight clothing, you may want to consider something a little less constraining.
Back in the 1970’s and 1980’s, it was considered the norm to wear stretch pants or jeans that hugged every spot on one’s body. But now, in these later years, it’s not so trendy, at least not for most people. Its one thing to see someone like Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones dance around the stage in his tight clothing or even Steven Tyler of Aerosmith might still be able to pull off his spandex, but your “average joe” hanging out at a night club on a Friday night? He should think twice.
In my opinion, tight clothing is not sexy unless you are of a certain physique. Let’s be honest, there are just certain people who shouldn’t ever wear tight clothing. It should be reserved for only those who can pull it off with no questions or comments.
Not to mention, more importantly, tight clothing can pose a serious health risk. It increases sweat and moisture on the skin which increases the chances of bacteria and fungi on the body. There is also a likelihood of a more serious skin disease called candidiasis. Why does this happen? These kind of clothes block air from circulating normally around the body. When someone sweats, the sweat doesn’t evaporate naturally as it should, therefore leading to a skin irritation.
Tight clothing can also affect that way that a person moves, and if clothes are restricting their natural movement, this can pose serious posture problems. For example, women who wear skirts that don’t fit quite right can result in them moving unnaturally, which will make their body tense and very prone to pain.
Of course, despite the information on the health risks involved and just bad fashion in general, people are still going to wear tight clothing and think nothing of it. They’ve been doing it for years and I have a feeling it will continue for years to come. Those of us who are against it will just have to suffer through it and look the other way (while trying not to giggle).
