Fashion Shows - Glitz and glamour!
If you have ever been to the New York or Paris fashion shows, you know that the name of the game for these couture designers is glitz and over the top designs! Every spring and fall, each design house comes up with new fabulous designs that hopefully the public will love and the stores will buy.
Fashion shows are a way for top designers like Donna Karan and Oscar to showcase their designs on the catwalk with beautiful models. Fashion shows are held two times a year for each season. The clothes from each designer vary in style. These events have become areas for the rich and famous to be seen and for runway models to become super models. Celebrities come looking for beautiful eveningwear to be seen in Hollywood at all the famous parties they attend.
Normal women unfortunately will never wear most of the clothes at fashion shows. The collection you see at fashion shows is designed to showcase the talent of that particular designer. This is about glitz and glamour. Most of the clothes you see are not even wearable for everyday. The rich and famous women may wear eveningwear collections of some designers, but unfortunately most normal people can’t afford these collections.
At fashion shows is where top store buyers come for ideas and to buy collections for their stores. It is also a place for people to take down ideas and go home and design something similar to sell at lower prices for the masses.
Fashion shows are a way for working girls to dream. Wearing a dress from the collection of Wang may be a dream, but probably won’t ever be a reality. If you save for a long time, you may be able to show off a piece or two that have been worn in Paris, but to wear a top from the fabulous Armani and have matching pants and handbag from another famous designer is probably not in the cards for normal working girls.
Fashion shows are also a way for top models to become noticed. This is the way that all of the top models become supermodel status. They work hard perfecting their craft on the runways and catwalks around the world. To eventually be seen in New York or Paris means that they have finally made it. When this happens, they will most likely get television endorsements and other opportunities open for them.
