The flame resistant fabrics are INDURA®Ultra Soft® which is a blend of 88% cotton and 12% nylon. The cotton is on the inside for comfort. The fabrics are guaranteed to be flame resistant for the life of the garment and will self extinguish once the source of the ignition is removed.
They also boast of a thermal line that has been designed for comfort, warmth and endurance. Their thermals are 30 percent heavier than most cotton thermals.
Carhartt clothing has a reputation for holding up under tough conditions. Prices are not out of line when one considers that this company makes clothes that lasts and lasts. One pair of jeans will outlast 2 or 3 pairs of another brand of jeans.
A word of warning. Carhartt clothing has a pre-washed version as well as an unwashed version to many of their items made with their cotton duck fabric. The unwashed version will shrink - a lot. Buy these items a size or two larger. Or buy the prewashed. This will will cost more but it is worth it as there will be no quess work as to size. Most of the shrinking will be gone and you can buy your normal size.
