Boy Scouts were formed in 1908 by Sir Robert, nicknamed the BSA in America. This is a program designed to teach boys of all ages about leadership, friendships, and developing strong work ethics and citizenship along the way. These civic minded boys would go on to earn scholarships and become pillars of our communities in the future. That’s how strong the Boy Scouts are!

Boy Scouts starts with being a Cub Scout at the ages between 7-10. They are grouped in a pack; then subdivided in dens. These den meetings are usually held at a leaders home, civic center or fire hall. In these troops, boys will learn about tying knots, building a pinewood derby, go camping, and learn about working together towards common goals. They can also earn badges for different accomplishments along the way.
The Boy Scouts group is a boy age 11-17 years. This is the developing stage of scouting. In this age group, solid friends are built, summer camp is attended, training and on the job experience in fields of interest, and many awards will be given out. The highest award in scouting is the Eagle Scout. This is a long time achieved goal and something that will serve the young man long into adulthood. Fellowship is developed through different outdoor experience such as camping, rock climbing, swimming and other such activities.
The next level in Boy Scouts is called Venturing. This is for young men 14-20 years of age. Young adults involved in this program will learn to make ethical choices by instilling great values; experience a youth program that is fun and challenging; become a leader to other younger kids; acquire skill in areas such as high adventure, sports, arts and sea scouting. All in all, these young men will learn to be responsible, caring individuals who will make the right choices in life.
