Baby boys names - Things to consider when naming your son
You’re most likely 4 months into your pregnancy and you may have found out that you are having a boy. What baby boys names will you choose? It is a tough choice with either a boy or a girl. To choose a baby boys names you’ll want to think about years from now when this child grows up to be a man. There are some names that you just can’t picture being a man’s name Jesse, Cody, Toby, and Logan. As with any other, baby boys names are very hard to choose from. From Adam to Zachary you will find a lot of baby boys names; search the internet, browse through baby books, and magazines. Whether you are looking for a baby boys names with special meanings or one that is at the top of the popular list ,or one that isn’t so popular (which maybe in a year from now). Here are some other things to consider:
Maybe your family traditions are to name the child after his father. You will need to consider that at family functions when you say “Matthew” you may have 4 people answer. Or will you use the father’s name and call your son by his middle name. What’s the point of naming him after his father then? Some like to use the same initials as the father while others will use the father’s first name as the baby’s middle name. There are some father’s out there who don’t want their son to go through the same things they did. Consider this fact: the IRS and other financial institutions can get your accounts mixed up. You answer the phone and the person on the other end asks for Mark you may have to say “big or little?” or “which one are you calling for?” Will you like when everyone calls the little guy “little Dave” and the father “big Dave”. These are just some of the common situations you could encounter.
Will you go with traditional American baby boys names or a unique Lithuanian one? It’s hard to picture 50 years from now all the little old men running around the nursing home with names like Carter, Reese or Holden. But again who could have imagined 4 years ago a baby named Jacob, Isaac or Luke? If you want something that no one else has ever come up with just remember no name has a copyright, once you put it out there it is up for taking.
Can’t agree on baby boys names? You’ve gone from site to site looking, checked all the books, and went to the library. Suggestion: make a list of your favorites and let the father make a list of his. Once each of you has a list of names go through the list, check for names that you both picked. If there are baby boys names that you both like CONGRATULATIONS your list just got a lot shorter. If not, you know what you have to choose from. Maybe use a name from your list and one from his to create a first name and a middle name. Compromise or you might have to go through a book together and pick baby boys names that aren’t on either list.
