Tim McGraw - From a Smith to a Who’s Who

Tim McGraw Tim McGraw was born Samuel Timothy Smith out of wedlock.  He didn’t know who his biological father was until he found his birth certificate when he was eleven years old. His name was Frank, better known as Tug the famous baseball player.   After finding that out, he changed his surname to McGraw’s.

Tim McGraw has two sisters.  As a boy he idolized pitcher Tug and had his baseball card taped to his bedroom wall.  He was salutatorian of his high school class in 1985 and is a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.

The now six foot adult Tim McGraw is married to Faith Hill and has a family of three with her.  All girls their names are Gracie Katherine born in 1997, Maggie Elizabeth born in 1998 and Audrey Caroline born in 2001. Neither he nor his wife, Faith Hill use their real names. Faith’s full name is Audrey Faith Perry and Tim’s is Samuel Timothy Smith.

2004 was a big year for Tim McGraw. Since his mother was an Italian, he was added to the Italian-American Hall of Fame in June, 2004. His song Live Like You Were Dying was written as a tribute to his late father who passed away in January 2004. This song won both the top Single of the Year and Song of the Year at the 2004 CMA best album Awards.

More recently in March 2006 he and his wife filmed a music video on Moonshine Hill in Crivtiz, Wisconsin.   Both are friends of Martina McBride.

Country icon artists, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have publicly slammed the clean up operation in the wake of last year’s Hurricane Katrina as humiliating. Being they are natives of Louisiana and Mississippi respectively, they are enraged that politics and agendas have hampered relief efforts in the wake of the greatest natural disaster which ravaged the south. McGraw, 38, says, there’s a lot of politics being played and a lot of people trying to put people in bad positions to further their agendas. That erases everything that’s great about our country. Hill, who broke down and began swearing during an interview, adds, it is a huge, huge problem and it’s embarrassing. I fear for our country if we can’t handle our people (during) a natural disaster.

Tim McGraw has had many albums released; Tim McGraw in 1993, Not A Moment Too Soon, in 1994, All I Want in 1995, Everywhere in 1997, A Place in the Sun in 1999, Set This Circus Down in 2001, Greatest Hits  in 2000,  Tim McGraw and the Dancehall Doctors in 2002, Live Like You Were Dying in 2005 and Greatest Hits Vol. 2, 2006.

Tim McGraw has also produced albums for singer Jo Dee Messina.
