The play can be found on the William Shakespeare Romeo Juliet site. It is the most famous plays of them all. This play is tragedy depicting two young children of two feuding families.
In the beginning of Shakespeare Romeo Juliet, is lovesick over Rosaline, who will not return his affections. His friend Benvolio tells Romeo he should stop pining away over her and look for another girl.
Meanwhile Capulet family is hoping Paris will marry his daughter Juliet and plan a party where they both will meet. Shakespeare Romeo Juliet hoping to see Rosaline, decides to bring his friends and go uninvited.
Lady Capulet discusses the idea of marriage to Paris with her daughter but she is not convinced it is a good idea.
At the Capulet’s party, Shakespeare Romeo Juliet fall in love, being disguised by a mask, she was soon to discover who he was. Later on Shakespeare Romeo Juliet learn that their families are enemies. They are both torn between their love for each other and their loyal to their families.
Unable to forget her, he scales the Capulet’s wall to be near her. Unnoticed in her orchard, he learns of her love for him as she pines for him.. After declaring their feelings for each other, the two decide to marry. Shakespeare Romeo Juliet sends a messenger in the morning to make plans for their wedding.
The next day his friend Friar Laurence wonders how he could forget Rosaline so quickly but agrees to marry the two since he hopes this marriage it will end the feud between the Montague and Capulet.
Shakespeare Romeo Juliet catches up with his friends Mercutio and Benvolio. Her messenger, the Nurse, arrives and the wedding is set for later that day. The Nurse brings him ropes that will allow him to climb into her bedchamber as her husband later that night and all goes as planned.
Benvolio and Mercutio Montagues meet Tybalt Capulet and Tybalt attempts to provoke the new groom into fighting. Mercutio fights Tybalt and is killed. Shakespeare Romeo Juliet then kills Tybalt. Escalus and the Prince of Verona immediately banishes him from Verona threatening to kill him if he ever returns. His bride learns that he killed Tybalt and goes into mourning over his banishment.
Capulet, who does not know of Shakespeare Romeo Juliet marriage, decides that the marriage of his daughter to Paris must now proceed.
Juliet’s banished husband comes and spends the night with her. As she fails to persuade her father into calling off the wedding to Paris, she threatens to commit suicide. Friar Laurence tells her to take a potion simulating death, allowing her husband to take her home since everyone will think she is dead.
Capulet makes plans for their daughter’s wedding and are thrilled that she is no longer protesting the event. What they do not know is that she has decided to drink Friar Laurence’s potion. She sleeps alone which allows her to take the potion in privacy and falls into a deep sleep.
As the Capulet’s welcome the arrival of Paris, they send the nurse to wake their daughter up. Since they think she is dead they change the wedding plans to a funeral.
As Juliet’s husband learns of her death, he decides to risk his own life by returning to Verona to see his beloved one last time. He also buys some poison from a local Apothecary.
Friar John explains to Friar Laurence that his letter informing Shakespeare Romeo Juliet is not dead, but it does not reach him in time.
Paris mourns his bride that never was and her husband arrives, opening her coffin to look at his love one last time. Paris fights him whom he believes is desecrating Juliet’s grave. Paris dies and is placed by her side. Then Shakespeare Romeo Juliet takes vial of poison, kisses her and dies. Friar Laurence arrives too late. She then awakens, asking for her husband, stabs herself and dies. Everyone arrives and Friar Laurence explains the tragedy of Shakespeare Romeo Juliet. The final page ends the feud between the families.
