Narnia Movie - The inside scoop!

Get the latest information on the Narnia movie that is sweeping the world! The creation of the Narnia movie stems from the classic tale, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, which brought adventure, enchantment, and valuable moral lessons to children across the world. This was first written book of the seven book series, The Chronicles of Narnia, all written by the well-known religious author, C.S.Lewis.

Quoting Narnia movie director, Andrew Adamson, about the film, “This is a story about four kids, all disempowered by a war in their own world, the second World War, who enter this land where they’re not only empowered, but they are ultimately the only solution to a war in that land. And it’s only through betrayal and forgiveness, and finally, united as a family, they can overcome these odds. We are taking the story of a family and exaggerating it to the level of the battle between good and evil. But, at its heart, it is still a very personal story.”

Andrew Adamson is the same director of the top Disney films; Shrek, and Shrek 2. The Narnia movie took over two years to make, and employed around six hundred cast and crew members. The final battle from the Narnia movie was shot on the beautiful Flock Hill in New Zealand.

Over sixty different species of creatures took part in this battle. There are five thousand magical creatures on one side, and fifteen thousand appearing on the opposing side. Some of the species were computer generated; others were human actors in which legs were attached by computer images. Liam Neeson, the voice of Aslan in the Narnia movie, appears very real to the audience, was completely photo-generated, along with some of the other animals. “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe have taken millions of young minds into the realms of fantasy- so the enormous challenge as a film maker was to try to re-create those worlds in a way that might live up to and even exceed people’s imaginations; that could truly transport you to another time and place. You couldn’t have made a photo-realistic, life-like Aslan five years ago. Or joined animal legs into a human body as we did with Centaurs and Minotaur five years ago. Now is the right time to be making this story,” said director Andrew Adamson.

He was right, all the reviews state that, Randy Starr, who created the visual effects in the Narnia movie did an incredible job. Also, the talented Richard Taylor, special effect director, was able to capture the true essence of the fantasy world in the Narnia Movie.

Starring in the Narnia movie is William Moseley, 18 year old actor from England, played ‘Peter’. Anna Poppplewell, the talented actress who plays ‘Susan’, was born and still lives in London. Georgie Henley, who portrays ‘Lucy’ in the Narnia movie, made her professional debut in the film. The ten year old lives in West Yorkshire, in Northern England. The last of these four talented children is Skandar Keynes, a 14 year old from London, plays ‘Edmund’.
