Milk and Cereal - A college video prank
Two friends and room mates at Virginia Tech, Matt and Dan have hit the spotlight with their new video – Milk and Cereal.
You won’t find much about the rhyme or reason behind the Milk and Cereal video, so don’t begin to search too hard for it. Maybe they just love it. Who knows why they did it and there is not much of a story behind it. But the basic story behind the Milk and Cereal video was that as with most college kids, they were up late burning the midnight oil. Since they were up late looking for something fun to do “that didn’t involve drinking, nudity, diving into bushes, police, or making complete fools of ourselves in front of the entire college campus,” they embarked on this venture. During their endeavor to find an innocent night time activity, they came across an old web cam that was collecting dust. They thought, maybe it was divine inspiration, or just plain stupidity, but right then and there the idea of making themselves a fun video, Milk and Cereal was formed. The first step in their brainstorming session was what this video would be about, but since their minds were not too sharp at that hour of the morning, Milk and Cereal was all they could come up with. They had been listening to music earlier and the idea of a music video type movie was spawned. Of all the topics in the world to choose from, they were still unsure what made them choose Milk and Cereal in the first place. They had been listening to G-Love & Special Sauce for a few years now and that song had always been catchy and entertaining and played a big role in the decision process. So they turned on the camera, collected breakfast items to display, hit play on the music, and a few minutes later their masterpiece, Milk and Cereal was born. It is obvious that they didn’t plan a single part of the video, with its simple lyrics and idiotic performance, but in this adlib and hastily assembled video, they have shown the world it’s okay to be an idiot, especially when the camera is rolling.
The song was actually produced by G-Love & Special Sauce, but it was never really released. Their best guess was that since they used a lot of cereal brands, they couldn’t get that worked out legally.
