Little Shop Of Horrors - Story of a bizarre plant
Little Shop of Horrors is about the story of a young florists assistant whose name ia Seymour Krelboyne. In Little Shop of Horrors, he is an employee of Gravis Mushnik’s Skid Row Florist Shop in Los Angeles. Seymour is about to be fired by Mushnik when another employee, Audrey, urged Seymour to bring out a new strain of this plant that he’s been playing around with. Seymour has a very big secret crush on Audrey so he names the plant after her. Mushnik gives Seymour one week to see if the plant, Audrey Jr., improves his business which hasn’t been at the top lately.
Little Shop of Horrors continues when Audrey Jr. begins to attract new customers to the flower shop right away. But the plant is also very sick and Mushnik demands that Seymour makes it well so that he continues to make money. While he was trying to figure out what was wrong with the plant that same night, Seymour cuts his finger on a coffee can and discovers that the plant has an oddity about it: it likes to feed on human blood. So, to keep the plant alive, Seymour started feeding it blood from his fingers. By the next morning, Audrey Jr. doubled in size and starts to attract an even bigger crowd to the flower shop. At this point in Little Shop of Horrors, Mushnik is making crazy money from his business. This makes Seymour famous and of course at the same time, makes Audrey fall in love with him. Unfortunately, Audrey Jr. starts to get sick again and Seymour is at a loss of how to feed it and make it well. Oddly enough, the answer comes from Audrey Jr. itself as it begins to speak to Seymour saying “feed me.”
At this point in Little Shop of Horrors, Seymour is very frustrated and accidentally kills a hobo near the railroad tracks. He thinks that by feeding the body to Audrey Jr. that it will make it well again but while he is doing this, Mushnik catches him. Mushnik pretends he didn’t see it because he doesn’t want his business to suffer from it. What they both don’t realize is that the hobo was an undercover cop. Soon, other cops begin an investigation on the disappearance of their missing colleague and discover the evidence leads right to the flower shop.
In the meantime in Little Shop of Horrors, Audrey Jr. continues to demand food which makes things extremely difficult for Seymour. For the business to continue and for him to keep his popularity at home, Seymour has to secretly kill people and feed them to Audrey Jr. who at this point, is extremely large. He resorts to something in which he is not thinking and decides to climb inside of the plant to kill it but gets eaten. Little Shop of Horrors ends with Mushnik and everyone else discovering that Audrey Jr. has sprouted flowers which have the face of all of its victims.
The Little Shop of Horrors is best known for being one of the most famous “B rated” movies in history. Little Shop of Horrors also popularly known for a film that was shot in short amount of time and has amazing music that it was even made into a musical.
A version of Little Shop of Horrors is planned to be released in the Spring of 2006 on DVD. This is the second colorized version of Little Shop of Horrors which was produced.
