Jennifer Love Hewitt - She’s back
Jennifer Love Hewitt has a new hit show these days. “Ghost Whisperer” is the highest rated show on Friday nights, airing on the PX network. Jennifer Love Hewitt was born in Waco, Texas and grew up in Killeen, Texas. Her mother gave her her middle name after her college friend. Her parents soon divorced, leaving her mother to raise her and her brother Todd.
Jennifer was interested in music as a child and performed at local events. She also tap danced and took ballet. At the age of ten, it was suggested by talent scouts that she make the move to Los Angeles to pursue and acting and singing career. Upon moving to Los Angeles, Jennifer Love Hewitt appeared in over twenty commercials. Her first break as a child actor was on the Disney Channel’s show “Kids Incorporated” on which she appeared from 1989-1991. She later appeared in several short-lived television shows—“Shaky Ground,” “Byrds of Paradise,” and “McKenna.” Finally Jennifer Love Hewitt became a star after landing the role of Sarah Reeves on the popular Fox show “Party of Five.” She continued in the same role in the “Party of Five” spin-off, “Time of Your Life” which aired in 1999 but was canceled after only half a season.
Jennifer Love Hewitt had already appeared in a film, “Munchie,” in 1992. However, it was her lead role in the horror film “I Know What You Did Last Summer” in 1997 that made her a film star. The film also starred Freddie Prinze, Jr., Ryan Phillippe, and Sarah Michelle Gellar. She also appeared in the sequel, “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer” in 1998. Other notable films in which Jennifer Love Hewitt appeared were “Can’t Hardly Wait” and “Heartbreakers.” She also received critical acclaim for her performance in the TV movie “The Audrey Hepburn Story.” She became a spokeswoman for Nokia as well as a role model for young women and girls around the world.
Her music career hasn’t taken off as much as her acting career. She has recorded and released four albums, all of which were more successful overseas than in the United States.
Since September 2005, Jennifer Love Hewitt has appeared in “Ghost Whisperer” which has brought her back into the spotlight and once again made her a household name and not just one of those actresses with three names (think Sarah Michelle Gellar, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen).
