It’s clear that they were one of the greatest pop and rock bands in the history of music. They broke new grounds that no band ever dared to travel and they opened up a new style of music that quickly caught on like a plague and that only continued to grow through the years. Over 40 years later, their music still lives on and you immediately know its them the minute you hear a note played from a song whether at the beginning or end. Their innovative music helped to define the life of the1960’s and lives on to this day. A song that sticks out in my mind as one of my personal favorites is Here Comes the Sun Beatles. Here Comes the Sun Beatles is a beautiful song that was sung by George Harrison (1943 – 2001). George was only one of the four members of the group. The others were John Lennon (1940 – 1980), Paul McCartney (1942 – present) and Ringo Starr (1940 – present).
They were one of the biggest acts of the 20th century and had more than fifth top 40 hit singles including Here Comes the Sun Beatles. They sold over one billion records all over the world. Their music combined folk, rhythm and blues, soul, electronic and turned it into popular rock sounds.
The song Here Comes the Sun Beatles was one of the most well known songs that was sung by George Harrison. Here Comes the Sun Beatles was collaborated on by the Harrison and his close friend and artist, Mr. Eric Clapton. The combined the tune with one of the Eric Clapton’s songs called “Badge” which was actually performed by his group Cream at the time. It was the bridge of the song that actually formed the tune Here Comes the Sun Beatles.
George Harrison sang the lead vocal on Here Comes the Sun Beatles and also played acoustic guitar, synthesizer and the handclaps. Paul McCartney sang the backup vocals while also playing bass guitar and handclaps. John Lennon unfortunately did not contribute to the song as he was recovering from a car crash at the time. Ringo Starr played handclaps and drums. There were also some unknown artists who contributed their talent with such instruments to Here Comes the Sun Beatles as the cellos, piccolos, flutes and clarinets.
You can hear Here Comes the Sun Beatles on their album Abbey Road, which is still available today. In 2006, this song was voted the number one favorite by members of George Harrison’s forum on George Harrison.com.
