Eddie Money started life on March 2, 1949 with the last name of Mahoney. In the early 1970’s, he was attending New York Policy Academy to become a New York police officer. He worked briefly at the NYPD. He later joked to Joan Rivers about his experiences. He soon found his calling in the entertainment industry as a singer in the music industry. He first moved to Los Angeles then to San Francisco.
In 1976, Eddie Money signed with CBS Records. He released his first album in 1977 with the smash hit “Two Tickets to Paradise”, earning him a spot of 22 on the Top 40 charts. Later hits included “Baby Hold On”, which hit number 11 with its catchy tune and words. Eddie Money has his greatest fame with “Take Me Home Tonight”. That song is his signature song. He co-sung this tune with Ronnie Spector. This song topped the charts at number 4 on the Top 40. This was a high spot for Eddie Money, who had debuted on the chart years earlier. Eddie Money continues to further his career after almost 29 years in the rock singing industry.
His next album, “Wanna Go Back” will debut in 2006. This will be his 22nd album released since 1977.He has many concert dates in 2006. Currently, Eddie Money will be touring 11 different venues in 7 states. The different states are: Florida, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Vermont, Indiana, and Maine. Not much is known about his private life as he seems to have a strict policy about privacy in his life.
