Disney Cartoons - Some of the classics
All boys and girls loved Disney cartoons as they were growing up! If I had to make a free list of my top animation favorites here on this site, it would go like this. In my opinion, these Disney cartoons were classic, many were even made into movies that you can buy or rent on video or DVD.
Snow White the Seven Dwarfs
Disney cartoons tells this famous story about the jealous queen who wants to be the “fairest in the land” and tries to get rid of her stepdaughter, Snow White. Snow White escapes and takes refuge in the woods with the seven dwarfs. The queen tempts Snow White with a poisoned apple and she falls into a deep sleep which she can only come out of with a kiss from her prince.
Dumbo
Dumbo is one of my favorite Disney cartoons. It is the story of a big baby elephant who has huge ears, which earned himself his nickname. He was befriended by his little friend Timothy, the circus mouse. He finally is accepted by everyone when he realizes that his ears are aerodynamic and that he can fly.
Alice in Wonderland
Another great classic in the Disney cartoons library! Alice pursue a white rabbit down his rabbit hole and finds herself in a magic land where she meets crazy characters such as the Mad Hatter, Tweedledee and Tweedledum and the Cheshire Cat. She escapes her adventure when she wakes up and finds that it was all a dream.
Lady and the Tramp
Who could forget this memorable one of the Disney cartoons? This is about a Cocker Spaniel, Lady, who falls in love with a mutt, Tramp. When they are left at home for a weekend, trouble arises. Everything is sorted out in the end though and a happy ending is reassured.
Sleeping Beauty
An all-time favorite pick of the Disney cartoons. Aurora is a girl who is cursed by an evil fairy and is said to die on her sixteenth birthday by a prick she will get from the spindle of a spinning wheel. A good fairy is able to soften the curse though and instead, she just falls into a deep sleep. You can guess that this ends happily with a kiss from the prince.
The Fox and the Hound
Tod is a baby fox who is orphaned. He is raised by Widow Tweed, who is best friends with Copper, a young hunting dog. After they grow up, Copper learns to hunt and realizes that his prey is also his friend, Tod. Yet another wonderful story about animals that the Disney cartoons tell! This cartoon was also made into a movie.
