Clint Eastwood - A legendary actor and director
Clint Eastwood is a famous, legendary Hollywood actor and Academy Award winning film director. He is well known for his top roles as the tough guy and for one of his famous lines as Dirty Harry saying “go ahead, make my day.”
Clint Eastwood was born on May 31, 1930 in San Francisco, California. He attended Oakland Technical High School and was drafted into the Army in 1951 during the Korean War. He was discharged in 1953 and moved to Southern California where he attended Los Angeles City College and studied drama and business administration.
Clint Eastwood began his work as an actor and appeared in some B-rated films such as Revenge of the Creature and Francis in the Navy. In 1959, he got his first break and was in the television series Rawhide. He went on to bigger roles in motion pictures in movies such as For a Few More Dollars, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly and Where Eagles Dare. Other films that followed was the western musical Paint Your Wagon (1969), Kelly’s Heroes (1970) and in 1971, he went on to have one of his best years in film as it certainly wasn’t the end. Clint Eastwood directed and starred in Play Misty for Me and played a villain in the film The Beguiled but neither of these two films compared to his biggest and most memorable role as Harry Callahan, the police inspector, in Dirty Harry. From here, Clint Eastwood went on to play other cop roles in sequels to Dirty Harry which included Magnum Force (1973), The Enforcer (1976), Sudden Impact (1983) and The Dead Pool (1988). Another famous film for him in the 1970’s was The Outlaw Josey Wales.
Clint Eastwood continued his stardom in the 1990’s where he starred in and directed the western film, Unforgiven, in1992. This film was nominated for nine Oscars including Best Actor for Clint Eastwood. The following year he played roles in Secret Service, In the Line of Fire and A Perfect World. He went on to direct films such as Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Mystic River and the powerful film Million Dollar Baby in 2004 where he won another Best Direct Award.
Clint Eastwood is currently working on directing the upcoming films Flags of our Fathers and Red Sun, Black Sand. He is a man who has been married twice and is a dad of five daughters. He is still found to be very attractive by women today, even at 74 years old.
