The history of William Shakespeare began on April 23, 1564 at home in Strathford, England born to John and Mary Arden. He was the third of eight children and his educational background was thought to begin at the Strathford grammar school. This was where the student studied Latin rhetoric, logic and literature as his imagination may have been spurred by reading ancient authors and English poetry.
