Natalee Holloway - The search continues
Natalee Holloway and 124 of her fellow graduating classmates were visiting Aruba on a five day senior class graduation trip. She was a student of Mountain Brook High School in Birmingham, Alabama. The last time that Natalee Holloway was seen was at Carlos’n Charlie’s, which is a popular bar and grill in Oranjestad. She was seen leaving around 1:30am on Monday, May 30, 2005 with Joran ver der Sloot and two of his friends, brothers Deepak Kalpie and Satish Kalpoe.
It was realized that something was wrong when Natalee Holloway didn’t show up for her return flight that morning nor were they able to see her on any security footage from the hotel of her possibly returning sometime in the night. Her packed luggage, passport and cell phone were found in her hotel room. It was at this point that police began searching the shore and surrounding waters on the island but to date, she hasn’t been found.
Since the time of her disappearance, the stories of Van der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers have changed at least twice. Recent reports have also noted the behavior of Natalee Holloway leading up to her disappearance. Reports say that she had been drinking all day long and that she was acting promiscuous at the bar with letting one of the boys drink a jello shot from her midriff.
Joran and the Kalpoe brothers were arrested after her disappearance and even a fourth person, the disc jockey Steve Gregory Croes was also arrested. They were all released except for the Kalpoe brothers who were rearrested only a few months later in the Natalee Holloway disappearance.
The search for physical evidence in the Natalee Holloway case has been extensive but unfortunately has produced nothing but false leads.
The reward for any information that would possibly lead to the safe return of Natalee Holloway is $1 million dollars. A $250 thousand reward is also being offered for any info about her whereabouts whether she is dead or alive.
Beth Twitty has appeared in several television interviews where she stated that Joran, Deepak and Satish Kalpoe know much more than they have claimed and that at least one of them sexually abused/raped her daughter. However, she has been criticized for her excessive focus on the three boys in that she’s ruling out any other theory on what could’ve happened to her daughter, Natalee Holloway.
It is a very sad and unfortunate situation that continues to receive media coverage to date in hopes that it will come to an end soon.
