The number one reason for divorce in the United States is the dollar. This should be waking people up. Marriage is the most sacred of all institutions and people’s greed for the love of money is ruining marriages today. It destroys marriages due to lack of funds or because one or both parties are obsessed with making it and forget what is important and do nothing but concentrate on their career and forget about home. If it is because there is a lack of funds, bills become the number one concern and people begin to forget about the big picture - each other.
If you read the lyrics to the song, “For the love of money” some of the words are scary. “People will steal from their mother, people will rob their own brother, people can’t even walk the street”, these words should be a free wake up call to all of us that our society is in search of the wrong thing. Remember the saying, “The best things in life are free”? This is definitely not a saying for those that believe in the almighty dollar.
News on the TV is consistently talking for the love of money in all that is shown. Commercials for us to spend more, infomercials to make us want more, it’s a vicious circle.
