Puppets
This is a fun project to make with paper crafts. You can make them from small lunch bags and you can make bears, dogs, cats, bunnies, mice, birds or even frogs.
What products will you need for your paper crafts? Little brown bags, cards of construction papers, glue, scissors, markers or a box of crayons and if you can find them, some googly eyes and pipe cleaners for whiskers.
To make the animals, fold the two square edges of the bag under at the dotted lines to from the animals pointed snout. This will now make the shape of the head. Cut out the eyes, ears, nose and whiskers (made of the pipe cleaners of any color) and glue to the body of the animal. You can cut the eyes, ears and nose specific to the animals you want to make with your paper crafts.
Patriotic Pinwheel
This is a very basic pin wheel to make with your paper crafts. You may want to reserve this craft for older children as it uses a push-pin and may not be suitable for younger ones.
You will need 2 pieces of construction papers, scissors, a hole punch, a push-pin, a pencil with an eraser and markers or crayons.
Start out by making two squares pieces from the papers. To start making a square, put the two papers together. Fold the corners. To finish the squares, cut off the small rectangles forming two squares which are already folded into a triangle. Fold the triangle in half and then unfold it. Decorate one side of each of the sheets. Put the undecorated sides of the sheets together and make four cuts along the fold lines, about halfway to the center. Punch four holes in your pinwheel, one at each corner. Gently gather each of the four points to the center being careful not to crease the sheet. Push a push-pin through the four punches holes through the center of the pinwheel to attach the pinwheel to the side of the eraser on the pencil.
