Kids Crafts - My child’s favorites

learn some exciting crafts for kidsKids crafts are so fun and easy. I have been doing these activities with my daughter since she was 1 year old. Kids crafts can be a time to bond with your child. Doing kids crafts is a great way to teach your children how to use scissors, glue and pencils. I have listed on this page a few Kids crafts that I have made with my daughter that she loved.

Handprint Christmas Angels

Items you will need:
Construction paper
Paint
Picture of your child

Pour paint onto a paper plate spread around with a brush. Have your child step in it then onto the construction paper. Next you will be doing her hands. The hand print should be wrist side next to the heel of the footprint. The picture of your child should be cut out and glued onto the top of the angel. Now you have a special gift for grandparents. They love when you give kids crafts as a present. You will treasure them too in years to come.
Other ideas you can do as a handprint craft are butterflies, bunny ears, and reindeer. The reindeer you use a footprint and the handprints as antlers. We used buttons for eyes and glitter to decorate the antlers. They were adorable.

Making cards is another activity that my daughter enjoys. I have stamps and stickers and glitter glue. I cut the card to size and she goes to town decorating the card.

You can also do kids crafts for other holidays, birthdays and gifts. Some other fun projects that are free include: paper plate turtles, egg carton snowman, placemats, bookmarks, pinecone birdfeeders, and soda bottle bird feeders.

Paper plate Turtles

Items you will need:
2 Styrofoam paper plate
Green paint
Green construction paper

Cut out feet and head from the construction paper. Paint paper plate with green paint. Staple two plates together placing the feet and head between the plates where necessary.

My daughter would spend all day doing crafts, so my idea of kids crafts usually includes a simple quick idea that she can do on her own. I always keep things on hand like: yarn, pins, buttons, ribbon, google eyes, red pom poms, paint, card stock, glitter, glue and Popsicle sticks. I also shop in the seasonal aisles after the holiday and pick up items on sale for the next year. Kids crafts will be something that your kid will look back and love about their childhood. Make a day of it do kids crafts. Have fun!
