Crafts for Kids - Easy Ideas and Where to Find Them

Neat and easy tips for doing crafts with kidsDo your kids watch too much television? Play too many video games? Are you looking for an alternative activity that is more productive? There are many crafts for kids that your children can do that are easy and inexpensive. There are crafts for kids for all occasions—Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and more! You can also find craft ideas for children for Sunday school projects and bible school projects.

There are some great websites out there where you can find craft projects for children. One of them is called Enchanted Learning. The web address is enchantedlearning.com. Another website I found that had a great selection of easy crafts for kids was DLTK-kids.com. This website features a variety of printable craft projects, projects for holidays, coloring pages, educational themes, and activities featuring some of your children’s favorite cartoon characters. I clicked on the link for cartoon characters and it brought up crafts for kids and more featuring Blue’s Clues, Dora the Explorer, The Wiggles, Disney characters, Scooby Doo, Sesame Street, and more. I clicked on the Bible activities link and it brought me to a page that features bible crafts for kids, coloring pages, lesson plans and teacher’s guides, and poems and songs. If you are looking for simple craft ideas for Sunday school, this website is for you.

Another resource I have used to find children’s craft ideas is Oriental Trading. I have ordered online and via their catalog. I mostly have purchased craft kits for Sunday School lessons. I have also ordered small trinkets like bracelets, stuffed bears, and pencils to give to my students in class. I like this website because most of the items and crafts for kids you buy come in lots of twelve or larger, which is perfect for classes.

I have done crafts for kids with my children almost every year for Mother’s Day. I try to find a different project each year that my kids can do and make into a gift for their grandmothers. We have made picture frames with their fingerprints on it, slates and tissue box covers with their handprints on them, personalized t-shirts and sweatshirts, and personalized switchplate covers. The grandmothers always look forward to these handmade, personalized gifts because they are keepsakes they can treasure for many years. They always appreciate the fact that my children took the time to make something so special for them.

If you’re looking for gift ideas, Sunday school projects or simply for something constructive for your kids to do in their free time, check out websites that specialize in crafts for kids, or check out your local craft store.
