There are so many children’s arts and crafts projects available at the local craft store, it’s easy to overlook some of the really cool products. A wonderful source for ideas on how to create all types of fun and easy children’s arts and crafts is my all time favorite, The ‘Family Fun’ magazine. A few of the innovative new products that have been featured in this great magazine will inspire the imagination of artists of all ages. A list of my favorite items for children’s arts and crafts to have on hand include:
Vibrant Fabric Markers; (Marvy, $7-$9 for a set of six), these amazing markers, the first on the list of my favorite children’s arts and crafts supplies, stand out in many ways, one example being the ink itself. Not only does the ink go on smooth and even, but the points are firm enough to paint fine detailing your own personal design, even on the thickest fabrics. Choose from a variety of 13 different shades that are bright enough to change even dark jeans into works of art.
Dab N’ Stic Re-Stic Glue; ( Crafty Dab, $3), this incredible glue lets your children make anything from personalized sticky notes to a wardrobe of paper doll clothes. This glue is designed first to be applied, then after the glue sets for a few minutes, will allow you to adjust as desired on paper or fabric. Any adult, along with their kids, will want to have this product on hand for children’s arts and crafts projects. Can also be used for photos!
La De Da Ultra Sticky Craft tape; ($3-$6) comes in a variety of shapes and sizes: it can be purchased by the sheet, the roll, or precut shapes. Crafters who want a product which is less messy than glue but simple to use, will want to have this tape on hand for creating great gifts and other children’s arts and crafts projects.
Scrap ‘n Glue Scissors; ( Amos, $10 for two handles and 8 blades), this cool tool works like regular scissors, but will allow you to easily interchange the blades, each with its own unique design. Parents will even love using this children’s arts and crafts product.
Elmer’s Squeeze and Brush ( $4 for a pack of 5), my kids love this washable paint because it is so easy to use, they simply squeeze the refillable tube on paper to create a no-mess masterpiece. This wonderful children’s arts and crafts item is best used for larger projects because of the wide strokes of the brush. These also come in a sponge-tipped version with stencils.
The next time you enter a craft store, remember to look for children’s arts and crafts items that will inspire your child’s imagination. These simple children’s arts and crafts supplies are relatively inexpensive and can turn ordinary toys, gifts, or any imaginable craft into something personal and unique.
